The fee for an initial evaluation of your pet regarding end of life decisions and care options is in the $200-$250 range depending on the complexity of the case. This fee includes the home visit and consultation. Many clients have found a that taking advantage of this opportunity helps bring clarity and comfort to a difficult decision.
The fee for a home visit euthanasia is $369 depending in part on the needs of your pet and the time involved. This fee includes the home visit, consultation and euthanasia (gentle sedation and IV euthanasia). Additional charges for body transport and aftercare (cremation) will apply. See aftercare section below.
For house-calls outside the Durango city limits, an additional travel fee of $34 + applies
An after hours fee of $69 will be added for services provided after 5pm, weekends, and holidays.
For urgent same day requests, an additional fee of $51 is applied
Follow up visit fees and fees for specific hospice (comfort care) related therapies will be determined on a case by case basis. For complicated or lengthy hospice cases medical and other costs may be significantly more than basic care. We will discuss this with you at the time of our initial consultation. All fees are due and payable at time of service.
How much does Aftercare cost?
Transport fee after euthanasia for cremation $37 minimum
Small Animal Private Cremations - includes ashes returned in a personalized keepsake wooden box. Fees range from approximately $300 for small dogs and cats to $450 for large dogs and are often handled by your regular veterinarian. Ashes are generally available at your regular veterinarians office in 7-10 days.
Fees for mass cremation with no ashes returned range between $158 and $250, depending on size.
